I was so excited about taking my son fishing for the first time that I
forgot to stop and get the night crawlers on our way to the pond that
morning. Wormless, I knew that we were going to have to fish artificial lures.

Our good fortune continued for at least an hour; we ended up catching 33 bass. Towards the end of our successful
first outing, Alex tugged on the line, looked up at me and confidently said, “Fishing is only for boys!!”
